Katie works with companies large and small to help them tune in to the ”Voice of the Customer” through research to create actionable insights to drive the business forward. Most recently Katie was the Senior Research Manager at Diversified Communications working in B2B research with tradeshows, print media and online sites.
During her research career Katie has worked with and for a variety of B2B and B2C companies and industries including consumer packaged goods, specialty foods, live events, insurance, entertainment, and technology facilitating quantitative and qualitative research. Katie is uber-connected and intensely curious early adopter, fascinated with how people (and brands) connect and interact digitally. Her special interests include trends adoption, generational research (how different generations interact with products and services), and research management (both staff and project management).

Katie was an early adopter of social media and has appeared on various ‘people to follow’ lists including 10 Great #MRX Tweeters Every Market Researcher Should Follow, Most Influential Client-Side Tweeters, and the Wearables 1k. She also blogs about market research, conference and tradeshows, wearables and technology here at InsightsGal.com. Leveraging her social media expertise, Katie also consults with small businesses looking to start on social media or enhance their social media presence and gives frequent trainings on personal branding.

Katie joined the Junior League of Portland, Maine in 2011 and most recently served as President in 2016-2017. She previously served on JLP’s Board as President-Elect and President-Elect-Elect, and VP of Public Relations. She has enjoyed a number of placements in the League, including the New Member Committee, focused on recruiting and educating new members and the Public Relations Committee, focused on spreading the word about the work the League is doing in the Portland community. Katie received the JLP Outstanding First Year Active Award in 2013. Katie has also volunteered as Teams Chair with Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure (Portland), the Miss Maine Scholarship Program, and the Alumnae Admissions program for Smith College managing recruitment for Massachusetts and Maine, and she previously served a three-year term as a Board Member for the Network of Alumnae Admissions Coordinators of Smith College. She also recently served on the Vestry of the Episcopal Church of St Mary in Falmouth, Maine.
